was held on

NKC.

councilors
and the

the Palilula
Council were
present at
the meeting.
After
legitimating
the minutes
from the
last
meeting, the
councilors
brought the
Decision on
the account
of
settlement
for 2008.

THE JUBILEE

Svoge
Municipality
in Svoge,
Bulgaria,
sister
municipality
of Palilula,
celebrated
last week
its jubilee
– 45 years
of
announcement
its place
for a town.
Milan
Djurdjevic,
president of
Palilula
Assembly,
Bojan Ilic,
head of
municipal
administration
and Milos
Stojkovic,
municipal
councilor
were
attending
this event
as
representatives
of Palilula
Municipality.
As a sign of
good
cooperation
Djurdjevic
gave
symbolic
gift from
Palilula to
Emil
Atanasov,
president of
Svoge and
invited the
president
and his
colleagues
to visit Nis
and Palilula
on June 3
this year
when
`Palilula
night` would
take place
within the
Saint
Constantine
Day -
celebration
of the City
of Nis.

ELABORATION

ENTERPRISES

Palilula
Municipality
has started
the process
of
elaboration
of the
Strategy of
small and
medium
enterprises
of Palilula.
Taking into
account the
small
systems,
micro, small
and medium
enterprises
are featured
with
flexibility
and they can
easily and
faster react
in the new
formed
situation in
the market
and use
their own
size in the
gaining
profit.
Beside, in
our economic
circles it
is said that
actually
these micro,
small and
medium
enterprises
will be a
sort of
basic point
of future
economic
development,
so that they
will, in
this way,
replace big
systems
loss.
Recognizing
this role
and its
comparative
advantage,
Palilula
Municipality
has an
obligation
and a role
to help and
support the
development
of small and
medium
enterprises.

After the
local
elections in
the
beginning of
July 2008
and Assembly
constitution
in Palilula
Municipality,
new
management
propounded
its way of
work and its
vision - on
the way to
European
integrations,
the
development
of local
community
must be
directed to
market
mechanism
and must be
based upon
the
experience
where
economic
improvement
depends on
the
capability
of the
community to
rationally
include
material
and,
especially,
human
resources.

came very

Municipality.

FOR THE
PROCESS OF
EUROPEAN
INTEGRATIONS
15.05.2009.
`Steady
conference
of cities
and
municipalities`
has started
with the
realization
of the
project that
has for its
objective to
introduce
local
authorities
with the
challenges
that are
waiting on
the way to
EU, but also
responsibilities
that must be
taken over
after the
joining EU.
Local
authorities
in Serbia
should
efficiently
promote
European
Union and
process of
European
integrations
to people in
their own
towns and
villages.
Zorica
Stojiljkovic,
Municipal
councilor,
is a member
of working
group that
takes part
in the
realization
of this
project and
one of the
main
activities
is draft
elaboration
of the
Action plan
for local
self-governments
that will
present
their
priorities
and strategy
of the
actions
toward the
government,
EU
institutions,
as well as
European
units of
local
government.

FAIR IN NOVI
SAD

Palilula
Municipality
helped its
producers
and
associations
to visit and
participate
at 76th
International
agricultural
fair in Novi
Sad. Goran
Vasic,
general
manager of
this year
fair, shared
his opinion
that this
year`s fair
proved that
it
represented
the key
point of
agro-business
in south
east Europe.
Etno
association
`Palilula`
had the
opportunity
to present
home made
products
that
attracted
special
attention of
this year
visitors.
This
association
from
Palilula
recently won
the prize
for the best
arranged and
decorated
fair space
at the
International
Fair of
tourism,
ecology and
sport in
Nis.

BASKETBALL
BACKBOARDS
FULFILS FREE
TIME OF THE
YOUNG

Young people
from `Stevan
Sremac`
street,
Palilula,
with the
help and
support of
the
president of
the
Municipality,
finally
solved their
problems how
to replace
the damaged
basketball
equipment-nets
and
backboards
in their own
local
playground.
While
meeting the
president
Novakovic
they
emphasized
their
problem and
asked for
help. In
just a few
days the old
were
replaced
with new
backboards.
Young people
from this
part of
Palilula now
have more
opportunities
to spend
quality time
in their own
neighborhood

SYSTEM
ESTABLISHED
13.05.2009.
The Board
for quality
was formed
in Palilula
Municipality
upon the
decision
brought up
by PhD Igor
Novakovic,
president of
Palilula
Municipality.
The Board
should work
on the
project of
establishing
quality
management
system due
to the
demands of
ISO
9001:2000
standard.
In
accordance
with the
authorizations,
the
president
brought the
Act `Quality
Policy` on
April 7
2009. It
says:
`The
administration
of Palilula
Municipality
fulfils all
the demands
of the
system of
quality
management
of ISO
9001:2000
standard.
This quality
system
management
is a part of
working
policy and
all the
activities
on its
setting,
maintaining
and
continual
improvement
are
modulated by
relevant
legal
regulative.

Do village.
It was done
within the

their
activities
and solving
regular and
daily
problems,
all with the
aim of life
quality of
the people
living local
community.
Svetislav
Petrovic,
alderman in
Palilula
Municipality,
informed the
Municipal
authorities
about the
demands of
the people
living in
Suvi Do.
They have
few problems
concerning
prevention
of further
destroying
of Zadruzni
dom
(community
building),
but he also
added that
the works on
water-piping
system and
asphalting
of `Sime
Josica`
street in
the length
of 20
meters.

from May 11
2009 Unified
communal
billing
service is
provided in
Municipal
building of
Palilula.
Service
office desk
will provide
communal,
residential
and other
services and
taxes.
Working time
of unified
communal
billing
service desk
will be
every
working day
from 9 am to
3 pm.
Palilula
Municipality
has for its
objective
making
closer
various
types of
services to
Palilula
citizens, so
that they
could be
able to deal
with the
other
affairs. In
the service
center of
Palilula
there is
also a
service
office desk
for
Administration
for Citizen
Affairs
where the

NEW HOMES

In `Zelena
ulica`, Novo
Selo village
happiness
finally
came. Ten
years after
NATO bombing
of Nis, that
made the
families in
Medosevac
(part of
Nis)
homeless,
people who
wanted to
have new
homes
instead of
repaired old
ones,
finally,
after many
years, got
new homes.
With special
thankfulness
to the
initiative
of Palilula
Municipality
where this
settlement
is situated,
and Nis City
authorities,
after one
year- the
time when
six new
houses were
built, got
electricity.
Moving in
was finally
provided for
the
families.

“BUBANJ”
CELEBRATES
ITS SAINT
DAY
06.05.2009.
Citizen
Association
`Bubanj`
traditionally
celebrated
on May 6
Djurdjevdan
- St
George`s
Day–its
Saint Day.
The
manifestation
for the
people who
live in this
part of Nis
and many
guests was
organized in
the
amphitheatre
of Memorial
park `Bubanj`.
After the
interesting
culture
programme
prepared by
the
children,
traditional
saint day
cake cutting
ceremony
started.

councilors
represented
local
government
and Palilula
Municipality.
Sladjana
Stankovic,
president of
Citizen
Association
`Bubanj`
welcomed the
guests and
expressed
the belief
that in
